Switzerland claims Deutz-Fhar Prize
Swiss rider Pius Schwizer was the winner of the second class of San Patrignano’s CSI5*. The young Swiss rider, riding a bay Selle Francais Jamaica VIII, stepped to the highest level of the podium for the Premio Deutz-Fhar prize, thanks to a faultless round in 31.61 seconds. The class was consecutive phase, where every faultless round was immediately succeeded by a second go. Two Italian riders cale up in the next two spots, with the second spot going to Modenese rider Gianni Govoni on Zamar Love Affair.
Third came Giuseppe D’onofrio on Laurion 2, bay Hannoverian 16 year old. Fourth place went to to Ireland’s Cian O’Connor on Baloufina and fifth to Austrian rider Julia Kaiser and her Dancing Queen. Good news for San Patrignano thanks to Jerry Smit on Poiana, mare born and raised in the Community’s stables. They placed a promising seventh, with no faults in either the first or second round. Meanwhile, Saudi prince Al Saud Bin Metab, thanks to his sixth place finish ahead of Smit, confirmed his horse’s excellent condition in preparation for his individual go at Olympic gold at this summer’s Beijing Olympics.
