(mps) In two qualifications, the complete world’s top show-jumpers had fought against each other, but only the twelve bests of this elitist elimination contest were allowed to participate in the MERCEDES GERMAN MASTER, the second main class of the international STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS show. Ijsbrand Chardon wins the Preis der Firma iWEST
(mps) When 16 hooves canter through the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle, when the spectators in the stands frenetically cheer for the protagonists on the box seat, the time has come for the aces in four-hand driving at the international STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS show. Like this, it was on Friday afternoon, when the Preis der Firma iWEST, the opening class for tomorrow’s qualification for the FEI World Cup DrivingTM, the SCHENKER GERMAN MASTER was carried out. Ijsbrand Chardon, the Dutchman, and his team were the fastest in the course of static and flexible fences, which was built by Falk Böhnisch, the course designer, in the Stuttgart arena. Being clearly behind the Hungarian Jozsef Dobrovitz, who became second in the end, in the first round, the eight times world champion noticeably accelerated in the second round and finished in the absolutely fastest time of the day (132.89 seconds) which was worth 2.000 Euro prize-money. |

Matthias Alexander Rath wins the final of the Piaff-Förderpreis
(mps) He had already convinced the judges in the final of the Piaff-Förderpreis at the 22nd international STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS show 2006 – and also in the 23rd edition of the indoor equestrian classic, the winner’s ribbon of the class of the Liselott Schindling foundation was received by Matthias Alexander Rath from Kronenberg. After he had already shown his ambitions with his success at the second qualifier in Lingen in June, the 23-year old started relatively calmly in the opening class on Thursday, where he ended up in the fifth position. |

Isabell Werth confirms her favourite’s role
(mps) With an obvious victory, Isabell Werth from Rheinberg has started into the dressage competitions at the 23rd international STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS show and, thus, impressively underlined her favourites’ role at the indoor show in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle. Riding Wallach Warum nicht FRH, the 11-year old Hanoverian gelding, the quadruple Olympic winner, six times world and 12 times European champion impressively won the Grand Prix for the Preis des Ingenieurbüro Hauser und der Familie Winter-Schulze on Friday morning. |
