Dutch rider Greve wins first class at San Patrignano
San Patrignano’s 12th CSI5* began today with a class reserved for young horses, sponsored by “Bracco”. Willem Greve on Uceline beat out the other twenty two horse and rider teams on the simple yet challenging corse designed with seven year old horses in mind by Swiss duo Rolf Lüdi and Heiner Fischer. The Dutch rider piloted the bay KWPN by Celano to a flawless round in record time – just 61.87 seconds.
Just as careful but a bit slower was Italian rider Jonella Ligresti Bonomelli (o faults, 64.05 seconds) on Quick Nick, a Holsteiner by Quinar Z. Third place went to Belgium’s Judy-Ann Melchior on Carry Z, a chestnut mare out of the Zangersheide line – the well known “Z” a mark of qualità show jumpers – with no faults and a time of 69.77.The top three riders turned in the only clean rounds in the first class of the day.
